| In essential beliefs – we have UNITY. Like-mindedness brings unity. Therefore, it is important that each member understand the essentials of our faith so everyone knows what we believe and why we believe it. “There is one body and one spirit… There is one Lord, one faith and one baptism and one God and Father of us all.” Ephesians 4: 4-6 In non-essential beliefs – we have LIBERTY. We realize that people come from diverse Christian backgrounds. There are matters of faith that are left to the interpretation of individuals, as they understand Scripture and are led by the Holy Spirit. We must stand without compromise on the essential doctrines set forth in this material. |
| However, other matters, which are non-essential, are responded to with liberty and biblical tolerance.“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters… who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls… So then each of us will give account of himself to God… So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.” Romans 14: 1,4,12,22 In all our beliefs – we show CHARITY. Love should permeate all aspects of church life. No matter what someone believes they are still objects of love from God and from this church. We embrace and celebrate diversity by demonstrating true Christian love to all. “If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have faith that can move mountains, but have no love, I amount to nothing at all.” 1 Corinthians 13: 2 |
